Leaving no ‘Stone’ untuned

Though nine episodes of Eli Stone sit unwatched in my TiVo’s “Now Playing” list, I was still happy to hear that ABC has chosen to air four more of the cancelled series.

Sure, these previously unseen outings are being relegated to the Saturday-night television graveyard (Pushing Daisies received a similar unceremonious send-off, wrapping up its two seasons with a bittersweet five-minute prologue in this past weekend’s finale), but it’s nice not to have to wait for the DVD release of Eli Stone to see what’s left. (Not that I am, which might have been part of the reason the show won’t be around for a third season. It would be quite lovely, however, to hear that the pipes-possessed Loretta Divine was joining Daisies‘ Kristin Chenoweth in decamping for Fox’s slice of show-choir heaven, Glee.)

Could a little Dirty Sexy Money love from ABC be next in line? Yep, look for the Peter Krause-starring soap in the same Saturday time slot once Eli Stone wraps. That’s July 18, if you’re marking your calendar.

Tune in (or set your TiVo) for Eli Stone this Saturday (the first of four episodes to air weekly) at 10/9 Central.
