I was frustrated to discover on Friday that The Guardian‘s stream of Gossip‘s new album, A Joyful Noise, was blocked in the U.S., particularly since the trio was birthed within these boundaries.

While I hope that Gossip fans in the U.S. aren’t left waiting until the album’s release on May 22 to hear the magic the Portland band crafted with Brian Higgins and Xenomania, there is this RAC remix of first single “Perfect World” that’s doing a decent job of distracting me from my distress.

Maybe RAC’s André Allen Anjos should have a sit down with Gossip and sort this streaming thing out. He seems to understand the importance of geographic loyalty — as well as the appeal of a free download:
