The Killers have premiered the music video for “Runaways,” the first single from the Las Vegas band’s fourth studio album, Battle Born, out September 18. That’s the cover art to the right.
While “Runaways” recalls the bombast of Asia’s “Heat Of The Moment” and tips its hat to epic Springsteensian boy-girl storytelling, The Killers’ new clip remains surprisingly earth-bound.
Sure there’s a starry sky, an open road, and some Las Vegas vistas, but “Runaways” is largely a performance piece from the band. With a few special effects to dress it up ever so slightly and plenty of red (check that cover art again), the music video was directed by Warren Fu (Daft Punk, Mark Ronson & The Business INTL).
Purchase The Killers – “Runaways” via iTunes, Amazon MP3.
