Video Premiere

Alpha Male

August 4, 2008 2 Comments

Alphabeat recently released the video for “Boyfriend,” the third single from their debut album, This Is Alphabeat. The Copenhagen sextet nabbed the Popservations spotlight back in March, and I haven’t stopped spinning ‘em since.

Besides loving Alphabeat’s pure ’80s-inspired pop, it’s even cooler to see the band translate such retro sensibilities into their videos, too. “Boyfriend” is worth the watch:

Still not convinced? Spend some time with “10,000 Nights.” Hear here:

Kelly Rowland (Destiny’s Child), whose solo career has really taken off in the UK (more on that later), digs the Alphabeat sound. Can a sister help some Danes get some needed exposure over in these parts?

While there’s still no word on a U.S. release for This Is Alphabeat, don’t wait to begin your Alphabeat fascination: Purchase a reasonably-priced import via Amazon.

I can easily imagine this song as the opening credits of a summer teen comedy/romance movie cerca 1987. Love it.

Spread the word! Alphabeat is just too much fun. The Ting Tings found a way to break over here, which gives me hope that U.S. music fans can make room for Alphabeat, too.
