After several low-quality leaks and snippets of her new single “Judas” popped up over the last day or two, Lady Gaga responded to the Interweb’s betrayal by bumping up the song’s release to today.
Not as immediate of a grabber as “Born This Way” — which, frankly, benefitted from having an already familiar melody as a built-in boost — “Judas” is gonna take a few spins to sink in.
First impression: It’s like “Bad Romance” gone completely bonkers (with bits of “Poker Face” and “Paparazzi” along for the ride). Imagine dropping two consecutive tabs of E in a sweaty Berlin nightclub where the soundsystem is cranked to 11. (Not necessarily a bad thing, accounting for legalities involved. Note the use of the word ‘imagine.’)
Purchase Lady Gaga – “Judas” via iTunes, Amazon MP3.
