Few things in this crazy, mixed-up world bring me as much joy as new music from Kelly Clarkson. So Tuesday was a pretty fantastic day, as the 29-year-old singer premiered new single “Mr. Know It All” via her recently revamped website. (Not all went smoothly, as the accompanying web chat was a total bust, which Clarkson took in stride).
Written by Ester Dean, Brian Kennedy, and Brett James, “Mr. Know It All” is the first taste of Clarkson’s fifth album, Stronger, out October 25. Though not as amped-up as previous first singles “Never Again” and “My Life Would Suck Without You,” ‘assertive Kelly’ is still in full force on the midtempo song, which sounds a little like Bruno Mars’ “Just The Way You Are”, albeit with a much less positive character assessment.
Purchase Kelly Clarkson – “Mr. Know It All” via iTunes.
